Hosting a successful World Series requires a dedicated team of volunteers to ensure a smooth and memorable experience for all participants and spectators.
By mobilizing a diverse and enthusiastic team of volunteers, Orangeburg will showcase its hospitality, community spirit, and commitment to excellence, making the World Series an unforgettable experience for all involved.
The host will assign team parents to each competing team. The team parents will be tasked with assisting their assigned team from the time of arrival until departure and will be required to always be on-call by the team manager. This is an important responsibility. Suggested volunteers include civic clubs; DYB graduates; league volunteers, etc.
Food servers will hand out food, drinks, etc. to coaches and/or teams.
Parking attendants will direct patrons to proper parking locations to include: accessible parking, VIP parking, and general parking.
Ticket checkers will ensure all entering the park have their proper credentials, pass, or daily band; check cooler passes; look for prohibited items (bikes, skates, etc.).
Game announcers will properly project the script provided by DYB including pre-game, game, and post-game announcements.
Press box coordinators will ensure all DYB requirements are placed in the press box between each game. The volunteer will also serve as a runner if needed.
The adult water crew will be tasked with providing water to all umpires between innings during each game. The volunteer will also transport and stock coolers between games.
Pastors will lead the invocation at 9 a.m. prior to first game.
